HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to recognize the 40th anniversary of the founding of Aurora Actionaires; and

WHEREAS, Aurora Actionaires was organized in 1975 by Martha M. Hickling, Caroline Johnson, and Donna J. Williams as a social organization with an eye for serving the community; and

WHEREAS, Aurora Actionaires has since shifted to a more service-focused group; its motto, "We Care ... We Act ... We Serve"; and

WHEREAS, Aurora Actionaires awards scholarships to Aurora High School students who are pursuing higher education; since 2010, the group has awarded 74 scholarships and book awards; additionally, its members help seniors, the needy, and youth by volunteering at community projects as need occurs; and

WHEREAS, Aurora Actionaires will hold its sole annual fundraiser on November 14, 2015; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize the 40th anniversary of the founding of Aurora Actionaires and we wish the group many more years of service to the community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Aurora Actionaires as an expression of our esteem and respect.
