HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Kim Thomas on being selected as a finalist for Illinois Teacher of the Year; and

WHEREAS, Kim Thomas teaches 8th grade math at the Woodruff Career and Technical Center in Peoria School District 150; and

WHEREAS, Kim Thomas has been teaching for 23 years; and

WHEREAS, Kim Thomas recently won District 150's Don Phares Award for outstanding teacher; and

WHEREAS, Kim Thomas works to make her lessons fun for everyone and even has a theme song for her class; and

WHEREAS, The Illinois Teacher of the Year will be named at the Those Who Excel banquet in Normal on October 17, 2015; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Kim Thomas on being selected as a finalist for Illinois Teacher of the Year, and we thank her for her commitment to education; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Kim Thomas as an expression of our esteem and respect.
