HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Andrew Zajac of Winthrop, Washington, formerly of Downers Grove, who passed away on August 19, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Andrew Zajac graduated from Downers Grove North High School in 2007, where he played football, played the cello in the orchestra, and traveled abroad with fellow classmates; he attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where he was a 2-year starter at right tackle and was an honorable mention on the All-University Athletic Association Team during his senior year; he earned his degree in biology in 2010 and his Master of Science from the University of South Dakota in 2014; he married Jenn in 2014; and

WHEREAS, Andrew Zajac served as a wildland firefighter with the United States Forest Service as part of a specialized crew that enters dangerous areas as fast as they can to examine a scene and report back to commanders on what needs to be done; and

WHEREAS, Andrew Zajac was an avid outdoorsman and athlete; and

WHEREAS, Andrew Zajac is survived by his wife, Jenn; his father, Jim Zajac; and his mother, Rev. Mary Zajac; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Andrew Zajac, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Andrew Zajac as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
