HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of G. Douglas Hibsch of Fairbury, who passed away on December 16, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Douglas Hibsch was born on August 29, 1946 in Fairbury to George and Anna Louise (nee Aellig) Hibsch; he graduated from Fairbury-Cropsey High School in 1964; and

WHEREAS, Douglas Hibsch worked at Technical Metals for over 40 years and was a well-known mentor at his workplace; he was always willing to help anyone no matter the problem; he was a talented machinist; he took extreme pride in what he did and kept up with the ever-changing industry; and

WHEREAS, Douglas Hibsch married Nancy Zeedyk Gerdes on July 28, 2001; and

WHEREAS, Douglas Hibsch had a passion for golf and was a former member at Indian Creek Golf Course; he was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fairbury; he was a proud resident of Fairbury and enjoyed discussing his memories in the town; he served on the country club board and was currently serving as a City of Fairbury Alderman; and

WHEREAS, Douglas Hibsch is survived by his wife, Nancy; his daughter, Lori (Jay) Hibsch Dietz; his son, Michael (Cindi) Hibsch; his 4 grandchildren, Claire and Jack Dietz and Sophia and Tyler Hibsch; and his sister, Barbara (Ron) Kanemura; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of G. Douglas Hibsch; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Douglas Hibsch as an expression of our sympathy.
