HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Kathryn "Kay" Woolard of West Frankfort, who passed away on June 15, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Kay Woolard was born in Johnston City on September 11, 1935 to Clarence Lee and Nola Irene (nee Bowyer) Williams; she graduated from Johnston City High School in 1954; and

WHEREAS, Kay Woolard was a homemaker; she was an active member of Third Baptist Church in West Frankfort, where she taught Sunday school and served as Treasurer for many years; she also helped cook and serve meals at the church; and

WHEREAS, Kay Woolard loved her family and enjoyed cooking for them; she had a long-standing tradition of preparing a Monday evening meal at her home for family gatherings; and

WHEREAS, Kay Woolard was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jack Williams; and her 2 brothers-in-law, Bill Wallace and Gerald Woolard; and

WHEREAS, Kay Woolard is survived by her 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Greg (Lisa) Woolard, Jeff (Debbie) Woolard, and Mark (Rachel) Woolard; her former husband, Jack Woolard; her grandchildren, Kristy (Derek) Dodd, Tarah (Keith) Kelley, Tony (Laura Dunning) Woolard, Mikane (Johnathon) Watson, Lucas Woolard, Jacob (Brittany) Woolard, Kylie (Jarrett) Cash, Dalton (Jodi Williams) Woolard, Jairika Woolard, Fairen Woolard, and Reece Woolard; her 9 great-grandchildren, Tadan and Maylea Dodd, Kamille and Lilah Kelley, Rylea, Hadlea, and Ayslea Watson, and Camden and Jackson Woolard; her sister, Joyce Wallace; her brother, Clarence "Bud" (Irene) Williams, Jr.; her 5 sisters-in-law, Louise Williams, Janice (Jim) Coulson, Gayla (Joe) Capps, Nancy Woolard, and Carolyn Kuba; her brother-in-law, Harold (Veronica) Woolard; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Kathryn "Kay" Woolard, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kay Woolard as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
