HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Crystal Davis of Anna, on being named the 2015 Miss Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Crystal Davis was crowned Miss Illinois on June 13, 2015 at the Marion Cultural and Civic Center; and

WHEREAS, Crystal Davis entered the Miss Illinois pageant as Miss Southern Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Crystal Davis will receive a $14,000 scholarship as part of her winnings; and

WHEREAS, Crystal Davis works as an advertising representative for Reppert Publications; in May, she completed her junior year at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, where she is studying public relations; and

WHEREAS, This is the first time since 2007 that a Southern Illinois native will represent the State at the Miss America pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Crystal Davis on being named the 2015 Miss Illinois, and we wish her success as she competes in the Miss America pageant in Atlantic City; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Crystal Davis as an expression of our esteem and respect.
