HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor Pat Young, Chief Deputy Clerk of the Fourth District Appellate Court, on the occasion of her retirement; and

WHEREAS, Pat Young was hired in 1979 by Justice Thomas R. Appleton and has faithfully served the Fourth District Appellate Court for the past 35 years; and

WHEREAS, Pat Young worked for 28 years for Appellate Clerk Darryl Pratscher and was eventually appointed to the position of Chief Deputy due to her knowledge and experience; and

WHEREAS, In 2009, Pat Young was instrumental during the transition from Clerk Pratscher to the new administration of Carla Bender and made the transition period run smoothly; and

WHEREAS, Throughout her 35 years of dedicated service to the Fourth District Appellate Court, Pat Young has been known as a tireless, loyal member of the Appellate Clerk's office leadership team, known to put in countless hours at her desk throughout the day in order to get the job done; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Pat Young for 35 years of dedicated service to the Fourth District Appellate Court and wish her many more years of happiness in retirement; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Chief Deputy Clerk Pat Young of the Fourth District Appellate Court as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
