HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Mark
4Phillip Sikorski; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mark Sikorski was born on October 10, 1969 in
6Chicago; his parents were Theodore and Marolyn Sikorski; he
7married Terri (nee Crosby) on October 18, 2006; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Mark Sikorski was raised and educated in Chicago;
9he graduated from Bowen High School with the Class of 1987; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Mark Sikorski served his country as a member of
11the United States Army; after returning home from the Army, he
12worked at various jobs before eventually finding his passion
13for truck driving; he worked as a truck driver and training
14coordinator for several years; he was the recipient of awards
15for safety and on-time performance for his commitment to
16excellence; his love of trucking led him to become an
17owner-operator; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Mark Sikorski enjoyed traveling with his wife,
19taking many road trips together; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Mark Sikorski committed his life to the Lord in

1September of 2014 at Christ Covenant Church under the
2leadership of Pastor Donald Love; he was also a Brother of Mt.
3Hebron Lodge No. 29, where he served as a Senior Deacon; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Mark Sikorski is survived by his wife, Terri; his
5parents; his grandmothers, Pearl Post and Josephine Sikorski;
6he was the devoted father of Mark A. Sikorski and Marcaila
7Sikorski and the caring stepfather of Navi Cathey; he is also
8survived by a brother, Ted Sikorski, Jr.; a sister, Sebrina
9(Brian) Higdon; his mother-in-law, Christine Crosby; 3
10sisters-in-law, Carla Price, Zenja Crosby, and Angela Crosby;
11his Masonic Brotherhood of Mt. Hebron Lodge No. 29; and his
12many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends;
13therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
15NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
16we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of
17Mark Phillip Sikorski; and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Mark Sikorski as an expression of
20our sympathy.
