HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, State Representatives Monique D. Davis and the members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Bishop Larry E. Roberts, Sr. on his Sacred Consecration; and

WHEREAS, Bishop Roberts was consecrated to the Sacred Office of Bishop in 2014 by Bishop James McNeal, Jr., Chairman of the National Christian Fellowship Conference and the Chief Consecrator; and

WHEREAS, Bishop Roberts is an Official Chaplain with the 22nd District Chicago Police Department; he is the President of the 21st Ward Ministers Alliance (Alderman Howard Brookins); he developed of an alternative out of school suspension program called CAAAD (Changing Attitudes, Agendas, Actions and Directions) that includes partnerships between faith-based organizations and local schools in Chicago and Kenosha, Wisconsin; and

WHEREAS, Bishop Roberts is a community activist and inspires "A New Attitude, A New Vision, and a New Direction" by collaborating with other churches, community organizations, and officials; he is dedicated to empowering the community by revitalizing relationships between neighbors, local schools, and businesses; and

WHEREAS, Bishop Roberts' Sacred Consecration will be officiated by by Bishop James McNeal, Jr. and take place on May 2, 2015 at the Trinity All Nations Church in Chicago; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Bishop Larry E. Roberts, Sr. on his Sacred Consecration; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Bishop Roberts as an expression of our esteem and respect.
