HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate John A. Logan College men's basketball coach Kyle Smithpeters on being selected as the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association "Coach of the Year" for the 2014-15 season; and

WHEREAS, Coach Smithpeters led his team, the Volunteers, to a 2014-15 season record of 27 wins and 7 losses; and

WHEREAS, The Volunteers won the Great Rivers Athletic Conference and the Region 24 and District 16 championships; and

WHEREAS, The Volunteers made their second trip to the National Junior College Athletic Association national tournament - the first since 1995; and

WHEREAS, Coach Smithpeters has complied a career record of 65 wins and 30 losses in his time helming the Volunteers; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate John A. Logan College men's basketball coach Kyle Smithpeters on being selected as the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association "Coach of the Year" for the 2014-15 season and we wish him many more successful years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Coach Smithpeters as an expression of our esteem and respect.
