HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Katie Groves on the occasion of receiving the Illinois Association of Colleges for Teacher Education's Outstanding Beginning Teacher Award; and

WHEREAS, Katie Groves is finishing her second year teaching fourth grade at Carterville Intermediate School; she is already well known by her peers as a highly effective teacher who works diligently with students and their parents to ensure each child's success; and

WHEREAS, Even during her stint as a student teacher at Tri-C Elementary School in Carterville, Katie Groves was perceived as a fellow teacher; she is noted for her leadership and collaborative skills with grade-level colleagues and the school community as a whole; and

WHEREAS, Katie Groves led the grade-level team that rewrote the English Language Arts curriculum, which is tied to the Common Core State Standards; and

WHEREAS, Katie Groves is well regarded by her peers for her great enthusiasm for teaching, her boundless energy, and her outstanding work ethic; and

WHEREAS, Katie Groves serves as a model of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Katie Groves on the occasion of receiving the Illinois Association of Colleges for Teacher Education's Outstanding Beginning Teacher Award and wish her continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Katie Groves as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
