HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Demontae S. "Montae" Rhodes of Rockford, who passed away on December 21, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Demontae Rhodes was born in Rockford on March 1, 1990 to Calvin and Tiffney Rhodes; he attended Auburn High School; he later earned his G.E.D. and took college courses; and

WHEREAS, Demontae Rhodes was part owner and operator of R&R Rhodes Enterprises, Inc. for 7 years; he was also a boxer with the Pat Cat Boxing Club; and

WHEREAS, Demontae Rhodes was a member of Rockford First church; and

WHEREAS, The love of Demontae Rhodes' life was Martia Flint; and

WHEREAS, Demontae Rhodes was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Hubert Jamisonl, and his paternal grandfather, Ardell Woodard; and

WHEREAS, Demontae Rhodes is survived by his parents; his sister, Asha Rhodes; his paternal grandmother, Vernola Woodard; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Franklin; his paternal grandfather, Jesse Rhodes; his paternal great-grandfather, Norman Rhodes; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends, including special friend, DeAngelo "Low" Matlouck; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Demontae S. "Montae" Rhodes, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Demontae Rhodes as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
