HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Rosie L. "Rose" Sanders, who passed away on February 6, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Rose Sanders was born in Glendora, Mississippi on October 18, 1938 to Betty Scurlock and Levi Smith; and

WHEREAS, Rose Sanders moved to Chicago at the age of 18 and began working for the Sarah Lee Corporation; while there, she met and married Nathaniel Sanders; she retired after working for 20 years with Sarah Lee and started a home catering service and home daycare; and

WHEREAS, Rose Sanders enjoyed cooking, traveling, and taking care of her family; she was a member of House of Prayer Healing and Deliverance; and

WHEREAS, Rose Sanders is survived by her sister, Ida Ballard; her 3 brothers, Willie "Pooh" Smith (Vicky), Danny Smith (Christine), and Walter Smith (Pat); her 4 sons, Otis Williams (Mary), Kenny Smith (Marcia), Alvin Smith, and Terrance Smith (Audrey); her 5 grandchildren, Cleotis Williams, Tammy Conley (Chris), Micaela Smith, Alivia Smith, and Alvin Smith, Jr. "AJ"; her 2 great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Williams and Aiden; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Rosie L. "Rose" Sanders, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rose Sanders as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
