HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of James L.
4"Jim" Broadway of Franklin County, who passed away on December
514, 2016; and
 
6    WHEREAS, James Broadway was born to Lester and Eleanor
7(Hartsock) Broadway in Benton on October 3, 1946; he married
8Freda Crider; and
 
9    WHEREAS, James Broadway was a self-employed truck driver
10for 46 years; he worked as a police officer for many years in
11Christopher; and
 
12    WHEREAS, James Broadway was a life member of the Eagles,
13the Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association, and the
14Sons of the American Legion Post 1961 Orient; he enjoyed
15fishing and hunting; and
 
16    WHEREAS, James Broadway was preceded in death by his
17parents; his sons, Chester Broadway, Mike Crider, and Chuck
18Garbo; his brothers, Carl Hartsock, Bill Hartsock, Stacy
19Broadway, and Kenny Ray Broadway; and his sisters, Linda
20Broadway Matheny Groves, Paula Broadway Vaughn, Cheryl
21Broadway Jones, and Jan Hartsock; and

1    WHEREAS, James Broadway is survived by his spouse of 28
2years, Freda; his sons, Jimmy Broadway, Bill Crider and Brad
3Reynolds, and Gary (Becky) Crider; his daughters, Susan
4Broadway, and Linda Sanders; his brothers, Ron (Peggy) Adams,
5and Gene Dale Broadway; his sisters, Beverly (Wayne) Irvin, and
6Cathy (Joe) Lamont; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren;
7many nieces and nephews; and his loving pet companion, Sophie;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
10NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
11mourn the passing of James L. "Jim" Broadway, and extend our
12sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
13and loved him; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of James Broadway as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
