HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Shirley Ann Jones of Pittsburg, who passed away on August 11, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Shirley Jones was born in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas to James and Irene (Groves) Raglin on August 17, 1937; she married Bill Jones in Pittsburg on May 28, 1960; and

WHEREAS, Shirley Jones was a homemaker; and

WHEREAS, Shirley Jones was preceded in death by her parents; her sons, Jimmy Newlin and Billy Jones; her sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Willy White; and her brother-in-law, Don Jackson; and

WHEREAS, Shirley Jones is survived by her husband, Bill; her sons, Doug (Gina) Newlin, and Randy (Leasa) Jones; her grandchildren, Jaleigha Jones, Breana Jones, and Miranda Jones; her great-grandchild, Amirah Jones; her brother, Melbern and Colleen Raglin; and her sisters, Kay Jackson, and Thresa and Wesley Johns; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Shirley Ann Jones, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Shirley Jones as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
