HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Jay R. Stevenson on the occasion of his retirement as President of the Illinois League of Financial Institutions; and

WHEREAS, Prior to becoming President, Jay Stevenson held the position of Assistant Commissioner of the Illinois Office of Banks and Real Estate, where he was recognized for his outstanding knowledge of federal and State banking laws and regulations; he was elected Chairman of the American Association of State Savings Supervisors and Chairman of the State Financial Regulators Round Table; and

WHEREAS, While serving as President, Jay Stevenson successfully guided the League through the 2008 recession, the enactment of the most expansive banking regulatory provisions known as the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, and the housing crisis; and

WHEREAS, Jay Stevenson willingly shared his knowledge and expertise of the banking industry with his banking colleagues, bank regulators, State and federal banking trade associations, and members of the Illinois General Assembly; he has represented the interests of all financial institutions in an exemplary manner; and

WHEREAS, Jay Stevenson plans to enjoy his retirement with his loving wife, Shirley, their two children, and their grandchild; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Jay R. Stevenson on his retirement, and we wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Jay Stevenson as an expression of our esteem and respect.
