HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Robert Dubois, who passed away on May 27, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Robert Dubois was born in Metamora to Joseph W. and Bernice E. Eckstein Dubois on April 21, 1941; and

WHEREAS, Robert Dubois dedicated his life to his community, and to the safety of others; he began his law enforcement career in 1960 as a crime scene investigator with the Illinois Security and Intelligence Bureau; in 1970, he became a crime scene investigator with the Illinois Bureau of Identification; later, he served in the same position with the Illinois Department of Law Enforcement; and

WHEREAS, Robert Dubois assisted in developing the satellite crime lab in Pekin; he assisted in designing and moving that laboratory to its present location in Morton; he supervised crime scene technicians in the northern half of Illinois and taught crime scene and death investigation classes throughout Illinois, including at Western Illinois University, the University of Illinois at Springfield, Sangamon State University, Illinois Central College, and the Illinois State Police Academy in Springfield; he then became a crime scene investigator for the Tazewell and Woodford Counties State's Attorneys' offices; and

WHEREAS, Robert Dubois was appointed the Chief Deputy Corner of Tazewell County; he was elected Tazewell County Corner in 1996, and held the position until his retirement in 2004; and

WHEREAS, Robert Dubois enjoyed photography, gardening, woodworking, and crossword puzzles; and

WHEREAS, Robert Dubois was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Robert Dubois is survived by his wife of 52 years, Martha Anne Dray; his children, Mary Theresa (Bart) Penn and Anthony Robert (Michelle) Dubois; his grandchildren, Adam Joseph Penn, Evan Lee Penn, Joseph William Dubois, and Faith Nicole Dubois; and his great-grandson Levi James Penn; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert Dubois, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Dubois as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
