HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Robert
4Dubois, who passed away on May 27, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Dubois was born in Metamora to Joseph W.
6and Bernice E. Eckstein Dubois on April 21, 1941; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Robert Dubois dedicated his life to his community,
8and to the safety of others; he began his law enforcement
9career in 1960 as a crime scene investigator with the Illinois
10Security and Intelligence Bureau; in 1970, he became a crime
11scene investigator with the Illinois Bureau of Identification;
12later, he served in the same position with the Illinois
13Department of Law Enforcement; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Robert Dubois assisted in developing the
15satellite crime lab in Pekin; he assisted in designing and
16moving that laboratory to its present location in Morton; he
17supervised crime scene technicians in the northern half of
18Illinois and taught crime scene and death investigation classes
19throughout Illinois, including at Western Illinois University,
20the University of Illinois at Springfield, Sangamon State
21University, Illinois Central College, and the Illinois State
22Police Academy in Springfield; he then became a crime scene

1investigator for the Tazewell and Woodford Counties State's
2Attorneys' offices; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Robert Dubois was appointed the Chief Deputy
4Corner of Tazewell County; he was elected Tazewell County
5Corner in 1996, and held the position until his retirement in
62004; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Robert Dubois enjoyed photography, gardening,
8woodworking, and crossword puzzles; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Robert Dubois was preceded in death by his
10parents; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Robert Dubois is survived by his wife of 52 years,
12Martha Anne Dray; his children, Mary Theresa (Bart) Penn and
13Anthony Robert (Michelle) Dubois; his grandchildren, Adam
14Joseph Penn, Evan Lee Penn, Joseph William Dubois, and Faith
15Nicole Dubois; and his great-grandson Levi James Penn;
16therefore, be it
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
18NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
19mourn the passing of Robert Dubois, and extend our sincere
20condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
21him; and be it further

3our deepest sympathy.
