HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Niles West High School, the Wolves, on winning the school's first boys gymnastics State title; and

WHEREAS, The Wolves won the championship at Hinsdale Central on Friday, May 13, 2016; they finished third in State in 1965 and 2015, second in 1975, and fifth in 2014; and

WHEREAS, The Wolves beat Glenbard West, Fremd, Schaumburg, Palatine, Deerfield, Mundelein, and Wheaton-Warrenville South in team competition; and

WHEREAS, The Wolves are now tied with the 1992 Glenbard North State Championship team for the closest finish in State history with a narrow, .35 margin of victory; and

WHEREAS, The Wolves title was the fourth in school history, but the first in gymnastics; the Wolves won baseball State titles in 1972 and 1975, and a girls basketball title in 1979; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Niles West High School, the Wolves, on winning the school's first boys gymnastics State title; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Wolves as an expression of our esteem and respect.
