HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Mary McKittrick on the occasion of her retirement as City Administrator of the City of Geneva on June 10, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Mary McKittrick's stewardship of Geneva's mission and vision has been instrumental in building a culture of excellence; her contributions were the result of her selfless work ethic and personal commitment to serving the best interests of the citizens and businesses who call Geneva home; Geneva is better off because of her tenure as City Administrator, and the city is well positioned to embrace the opportunities and address any challenges that come its way; and

WHEREAS, As Geneva City Administrator, Mary McKittrick has been influential in creating the city's Strategic Plan Advisory Committee and Student Government Program and establishing the Employee Ethics Committee; the city also received its first budget and audit awards under her leadership; and

WHEREAS, Mary McKittrick serves as legislative chairperson of the Metro West Council of Government, an association of 35 municipalities in Kane, Kendall, and DeKalb Counties that addresses regional issues such as unfunded mandates, growth, transportation, water conservation, and economic development; she is a member of the Managers Committee of the Illinois Municipal League and the Northern Illinois University Public Administration Board of Advisors and periodically serves as an instructor at Waubonsee Community College; she also conducts occasional training sessions in leadership and governance, local government, and strategic planning; and

WHEREAS, Mary McKittrick serves as a model of integrity and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Mary McKittrick on the occasion of her retirement as City Administrator of the City of Geneva and wish her continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mary McKittrick as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
