HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to recognize Laurie Jakubczak on her 10 years as Athletic Director at her alma mater, Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Laurie Jakubczak started her coaching career at Seton Academy in 1984, becoming the athletic director in 1990; she led the Sting girls basketball team to its first State quarterfinals appearance in 1998; and

WHEREAS, The athletic director position opened at Mother McAuley in 2006 and it was a natural fit for Laurie Jakubczak who is so passionate about the school; and

WHEREAS, Laurie Jakubczak was recently selected as the Division I Athletic Director of the Year; in celebration, she took a spin on a golf cart through the halls of Mother McAuley with several Mighty Macs athletes and family members trailing behind her; and

WHEREAS, Laurie Jakubczak loves what she does and enjoys coming to school every day; she considers the school and those who are a part of it her family; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize Laurie Jakubczak on her 10 years as Athletic Director at Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School and we wish her many more wonderful years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Laurie Jakubczak as an expression of our esteem and respect.
