HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Captain Kurt Schlueter on
4the occasion of his retirement from the Western Springs Fire
5Department on May 5, 2016, after 41 years of dedicated service;
6and
 
7    WHEREAS, During the past 41 years, Captain Kurt Schlueter
8has served the Western Springs Fire Department and the citizens
9of Western Springs in a manner marked by hard work, honor, and
10professionalism; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Captain Kurt Schlueter was one of the first
12licensed paramedics on the Western Springs Fire Department and
13was instrumental in enabling the Department to become an early
14leader in the provision of emergency advanced life support
15services; and
 
16    WHEREAS, In addition to his firefighting and paramedic
17duties, Captain Kurt Schlueter also was responsible for
18providing the Department's fire prevention services to the
19Western Springs community for many years; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Having risen through the ranks from
21Firefighter/Paramedic to Lieutenant to Captain, Captain Kurt

1Schlueter has earned the respect of the members of this body
2and the citizens of Western Springs as a leader and a friend;
3and
 
4    WHEREAS, Captain Kurt Schlueter serves as a model of hard
5work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of
6Illinois; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
8NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
9congratulate Captain Kurt Schlueter on the occasion of his
10retirement and wish him continued success and happiness in the
11future; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to Captain Kurt Schlueter as a symbol of our esteem
14and respect.
