HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Captain Kurt Schlueter on the occasion of his retirement from the Western Springs Fire Department on May 5, 2016, after 41 years of dedicated service; and

WHEREAS, During the past 41 years, Captain Kurt Schlueter has served the Western Springs Fire Department and the citizens of Western Springs in a manner marked by hard work, honor, and professionalism; and

WHEREAS, Captain Kurt Schlueter was one of the first licensed paramedics on the Western Springs Fire Department and was instrumental in enabling the Department to become an early leader in the provision of emergency advanced life support services; and

WHEREAS, In addition to his firefighting and paramedic duties, Captain Kurt Schlueter also was responsible for providing the Department's fire prevention services to the Western Springs community for many years; and

WHEREAS, Having risen through the ranks from Firefighter/Paramedic to Lieutenant to Captain, Captain Kurt Schlueter has earned the respect of the members of this body and the citizens of Western Springs as a leader and a friend; and

WHEREAS, Captain Kurt Schlueter serves as a model of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Captain Kurt Schlueter on the occasion of his retirement and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Captain Kurt Schlueter as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
