HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to recognize, acknowledge, and congratulate Mayor Arlene Jezierny of the Village of Harwood Heights for her many years as a dedicated civil servant who has devoted herself to serving her community and for her many charitable and community-based endeavors; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Jezierny serves as a role model to everyone who has had the great fortune of meeting her; and

WHEREAS, Since first moving to Harwood Heights with her family in 1960, Mayor Jezierny has been on an unending crusade to better both herself and her community; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Jezierny graduated from Madonna High School and attended classes at both Triton and Wright Colleges while pursuing her degree; and

WHEREAS, Before getting fully involved in local politics, Mayor Jezierny had a successful 37 year career with a top international insurance corporation, attaining the title of Assistant Vice President/Director of Marketing and Sales Promotion with the corporation; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Jezierny stays active in her community, giving her time and resources to Easter Seals, the American Cancer Society, juvenile diabetes charities, the Rotary Club, the Resurrection Auxiliary, the Harwood Heights-Norridge Chamber of Commerce, the Red Hat Society, and the Polish Museum; she also mentors Ridgewood High School students; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Jezierny serves as an inspiration to all in her endless mission to better herself, from working full-time while getting her education to how she remains active in countless charities and community-based organizations; and

WHEREAS, We wish Mayor Jezierny the best of luck with her continued dedication to serving her community and all who dwell within it and hope that she may have many more years of dedicated service; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we honor and thank Mayor Arlene Jezierny for her years of dedicated and skilled service; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mayor Jezierny as an expression of our appreciation for a job well done.
