HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Tom Moehn on the occasion
4of his retirement after 46 years of service with Challenge
5Unlimited, Inc.; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Tom Moehn, Chief Executive Officer of Challenge
7Unlimited, Inc. and Residential Options, Inc., began working in
8July of 1969 with what was then known as Specialized Services,
9Inc.; and
 
10    WHEREAS, During Tom Moehn's time with Challenge Unlimited,
11he has been dedicated to the company's mission, providing
12opportunities for individuals with disabilities, assisting
13them to live, work, and participate in the community; he has
14made a difference for thousands of people over the years and he
15has been committed to offering people opportunities to become
16independent and successful; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Tom Moehn has been a visionary leader in the area
18of the social entrepreneurial business model, which stresses
19the importance of people with disabilities being integrated
20into the community and understanding that work which pays a
21living wage is an important facet of life; he led the effort in
22Madison County to provide safe and integrated residential

1housing for people with disabilities; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Tom Moehn is recognized as an industry leader
3throughout the country and his company has been recognized for
4its innovative and award-winning services for people with
5disabilities; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Tom Moehn's retirement became official on
7February 29, 2016; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
10congratulate Tom Moehn on his retirement after 46 years of
11service with Challenge Unlimited, Inc. and we wish him the best
12in all his future endeavors; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to Tom Moehn as an expression of our esteem and
15respect.
