HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Steve Mexin on the occasion of his retirement as Police Chief of the City of Geneva on May 6, 2016; and

WHEREAS, After being hired as a Geneva patrol officer in 1989, Chief Mexin worked as a field training officer, field training co-coordinator, intern program coordinator, and member of the tactical response unit; he was appointed to serve as police chief in 2008; and

WHEREAS, During Chief Mexin's tenure, major crime in Geneva has decreased by 41% and theft has decreased by 36%; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Steve Mexin on the occasion of his retirement and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Chief Mexin as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
