HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to celebrate the life of Hazel
4Lucille Car-Little; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Hazel Car-Little was born on January 18, 1926; she
6and her husband, Wilson Little, were among those who moved to
7the northern and western United States during the Great
8Migration between 1915 and 1960; they lived on the South Side
9of Chicago and raised 10 children, Charles, Marilyn, Lonnie,
10Melanie, Myra, Margie, Yvonne, O'keith, Dietra, and Pamela; her
11husband passed away in 1982; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Hazel Car-Little resided in the Roseland
13community from 1973 to 2005; she is a member of the Roseland
14Presbyterian Church; since 2005, she has lived on Jennifer Lane
15in Calumet City; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Hazel Car-Little enjoys baking, especially her
17fried apple pies, three-layer cakes, and homemade biscuits; she
18also enjoys relaxing in her home, crossword puzzles,
19interacting with her dogs, Foxy and Snowball, gardening,
20fishing, and spending time with her children, grandchildren,
21and great-grandchildren; and

1    WHEREAS, An appreciation dinner in honor of Hazel
2Car-Little will be held on April 9, 2016 at Glenwood Oaks in
3Glenwood; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
5NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
6celebrate the life of Hazel Lucille Car-Little and wish her
7many happy and healthy years to come; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to Hazel Car-Little as a symbol of our esteem and
10respect.
