HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to celebrate the life of Hazel Lucille Car-Little; and

WHEREAS, Hazel Car-Little was born on January 18, 1926; she and her husband, Wilson Little, were among those who moved to the northern and western United States during the Great Migration between 1915 and 1960; they lived on the South Side of Chicago and raised 10 children, Charles, Marilyn, Lonnie, Melanie, Myra, Margie, Yvonne, O'keith, Dietra, and Pamela; her husband passed away in 1982; and

WHEREAS, Hazel Car-Little resided in the Roseland community from 1973 to 2005; she is a member of the Roseland Presbyterian Church; since 2005, she has lived on Jennifer Lane in Calumet City; and

WHEREAS, Hazel Car-Little enjoys baking, especially her fried apple pies, three-layer cakes, and homemade biscuits; she also enjoys relaxing in her home, crossword puzzles, interacting with her dogs, Foxy and Snowball, gardening, fishing, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, An appreciation dinner in honor of Hazel Car-Little will be held on April 9, 2016 at Glenwood Oaks in Glenwood; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we celebrate the life of Hazel Lucille Car-Little and wish her many happy and healthy years to come; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Hazel Car-Little as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
