HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Jeffrey V. White for being
4promoted to the rank of Sergeant Major and to recognize the
5hard work he has contributed to this achievement in service of
6his community and country; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Jeffrey V. White is from Blue Mound, Illinois; he
8enlisted in the Illinois Army National Guard in March of 1994
9as a turbine engine mechanic in Detachment 1, Company E, 106th
10Aviation in Decatur; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Prior to deployment, Sergeant Major White served
12as an Illinois Army National Guard recruiter in Quincy; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Sergeant Major White deployed to Afghanistan in
142010 to 2011 as an aerial sensor operator standardization
15instructor; and
 
16    WHEREAS, After serving as the Recruiting and Retention
17Battalion first sergeant for Charlie Company in Machesney Park,
18Sergeant Major White was assigned as the Enlisted Strength
19Management noncommissioned officer in charge in Springfield;
20and

1    WHEREAS, Sergeant Major White was promoted to the rank of
2Sergeant Major on January 30, 2016 during a promotion ceremony
3at Camp Lincoln in Springfield; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Through his dedication, patriotism, and service,
5Sergeant Major White provides an admirable example to junior
6soldiers and the next generation and a source of pride for our
7Central Illinois communities; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
10congratulate Jeffrey V. White on his promotion to the rank of
11Sergeant Major and wish him continued success and happiness in
12the future; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to Sergeant Major Jeffrey White as a symbol of our
15esteem and respect.
