HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Louis H. Gualdoni, who passed away on January 25, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Louis Gualdoni was born on April 6, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan; his parents were Emil A. and Lucy (nee Dobracki) Gualdoni, Sr.; he married Beauella A. Bearden on September 29, 1951 in the rectory of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin; and

WHEREAS, Louis Gualdoni was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, Louis Gualdoni owned and operated Louie's P & R in Herrin for over 59 years; and

WHEREAS, Louis Gualdoni was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin; he served as president of the Herrin Eagles, and was a member of Herrin Knights of Columbus Council 2164, Herrin Elks Lodge 1146, and Pigeon Inn in Herrin; he was also a member of the Herrin American Legion Post 645 and the Baker-Ladd Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1567 in Herrin; and

WHEREAS, Louis Gualdoni was preceded in death by his wife, Beauella; his parents; and his brothers, Emil A. Gualdoni, Jr. and Albert R. Gualdoni; and

WHEREAS, Louis Gualdoni is survived by his children and their spouses, Tony and Alisa Gualdoni, Janice and David Rose, and Chris and Ann Gualdoni; his grandchildren, Mandi Courson, Nikki (Mike) Helsley, Spencer Gualdoni, Lacie Goff, Louis Gualdoni, and Kristy Gualdoni; his great-grandchildren, Anthony Sieveking and Brynlynn Helsley; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Diane Gualdoni and Tom and Lola Gualdoni; his sister-in-law, Peggy Gualdoni; his several nieces and nephews; his extended family and friends at The Villas of Holly Brook; and his special caregiver, Helen Cavins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Louis H. Gualdoni; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Louis Gualdoni as an expression of our sympathy.
