20 ILCS 1605/7.2  from Ch. 120, par. 1157.2

    Amends the Illinois Lottery Law. Prohibits the Department of the Lottery from publicly disclosing the identity of any person awarded a prize, except upon written authorization of that person. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning the lottery.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Lottery Law is amended by changing
5Section 7.2 as follows:
 
6    (20 ILCS 1605/7.2)  (from Ch. 120, par. 1157.2)
7    Sec. 7.2. Department rules; disclosure of winners identity
8prohibited.
9    (a) The rules and regulations of the Department may
10include, but shall not be limited to, the following:
11        (1) The types of lotteries to be conducted;
12        (2) The price, or prices, of tickets or shares in the
13    lottery;
14        (3) The numbers and sizes of the prizes on the winning
15    tickets or shares;
16        (4) The manner of selecting the winning tickets or
17    shares;
18        (5) The manner of payment of prizes to the holders of
19    winning tickets or shares;
20        (6) The frequency of the drawing or selections of
21    winning tickets or shares, without limitation;
22        (7) Without limit to number, the type or types of
23    locations at which tickets or shares may be sold;

1        (8) The method to be used in selling tickets or shares;
2        (9) The manner and amount of compensation, if any, to
3    be paid licensed sales agents necessary to provide for the
4    adequate availability of tickets or shares to prospective
5    buyers and for the convenience of the public;
6        (10) The apportionment of the total revenues accruing
7    from the sale of lottery tickets or shares and from all
8    other sources among (i) the payment of prizes to the
9    holders of winning tickets or shares, (ii) the payment of
10    costs incurred in the operation and administration of the
11    lottery, including the expenses of the Department and the
12    costs resulting from any contract or contracts entered into
13    for promotional, advertising or operational services or
14    for the purchase or lease of lottery equipment and
15    materials, and (iii) for monthly transfers to the Common
16    School Fund. The net revenues accruing from the sale of
17    lottery tickets shall be determined by deducting from total
18    revenues the payments required by paragraphs (i) and (ii)
19    of this subsection.
20        (11) Such other matters necessary or desirable for the
21    efficient and economical operation and administration of
22    the lottery and for the convenience of the purchasers of
23    tickets or shares and the holders of winning tickets or
24    shares.
25    Any rules and regulations of the Department with respect to
26monthly transfers to the Common School Fund are subject to

2    (b) The Department shall not publicly disclose the identity
3of any person awarded a prize, except upon written
4authorization of that person.
