SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

30 ILCS 805/9.2 new

Amends the State Mandates Act. Provides that the General Assembly shall not approve of any unfunded mandates under the Act during a calendar year which contains a general election.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning finance.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The State Mandates Act is amended by adding Section 9.2 as follows:

(30 ILCS 805/9.2 new)

Sec. 9.2. No unfunded mandates during election years. Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act, the General Assembly shall not approve of any unfunded mandates under this Act during a calendar year which contains a general election as defined in the Election Code.
