SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

110 ILCS 805/3-29.8

Amends the Community College Districts Article of the Public Community College Act. Provides that if the board of trustees of a community college district issues a monetary severance package to a district employee using State funds, the exact amount of that monetary severance package shall be deducted from the next disbursement from the State Comptroller to that district. Effective immediately.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Public Community College Act is amended by changing Section 3-29.8 as follows:

(110 ILCS 805/3-29.8)

Sec. 3-29.8. Administrator and faculty salary and benefits; report. Each board of trustees shall report to the Board of Higher Education, on or before July 1 of each year, the base salary and benefits of the president or chief executive officer of the community college and all administrators, faculty members, and instructors employed by the community college district. For the purposes of this Section, "benefits" includes without limitation vacation days, sick days, bonuses, annuities, and retirement enhancements.

If the board of trustees issues a monetary severance package to an employee of the community college district using State funds, the exact amount of that monetary severance package shall be deducted from the next disbursement from the State Comptroller to that community college district under Section 2-16.02 of this Act.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
