SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Victor Bryan Clark of Andalusia, who passed away on February 9, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Victor Clark was born to Arthur B. and Mary Rose (Johnson) Clark in Flagler, Colorado on November 13, 1935; he married Margaretha Schmalzl in Innsbruck, Austria on September 20, 1955; and

WHEREAS, Victor Clark served in and retired from the U.S. Army, receiving an honorable discharge after 20 years of service; during his military service, he received several recognitions and awards; and

WHEREAS, Victor Clark enjoyed playing cards and dice; and

WHEREAS, Victor Clark was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, Victor Clark was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings; and

WHEREAS, Victor Clark is survived by his wife of 68 years, Margaretha; his daughter, Margarethe (Roger) Krueger; his grandchildren, Tara (Eric) Keith and Aaron (Heather) Krueger; his great-grandchildren, Jacob Peterson, Kyle Krueger, Jensen Peterson, and Dallas Krueger; his great-great-grandchildren, Hazel and Ryleigh; his sister-in-law, Marianne Atnip; and his nephew, Roman Atnip; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Victor Bryan Clark and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Victor Clark as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
