HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Fabio Poli of Antioch, who passed away on March 29, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Fabio Poli was born to Pietro and Elena Poli in LaRocca, Italy on December 22, 1943; he served in the 1st Battalion, 178th Infantry of the Illinois Army National Guard; he married Elvira Cairo in Chicago on May 1, 1965; and

WHEREAS, Fabio Poli enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening; he loved classic cars, especially his yellow 1951 Packard; above all, he relished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his dogs; and

WHEREAS, Fabio Poli was known for his homemade wine and cured Italian meats and for sharing stories of his youth with his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Fabio Poli was preceded in death by his wife and his siblings, Giancarlo (Rina) Poli, Gemma (Piero) Pierini, and Lidia (Angelo) Coslovich; and

WHEREAS, Fabio Poli is survived by his sons, Peter (Alyssa) and Tony (Melissa) Poli; his grandchildren, Isabella, Lucas, Dominic, and Geovanni; and many extended family members; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Fabio Poli and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Fabio Poli as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
