SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Edward "Ed" Meyer, who passed away on February 12, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Edward Meyer was born on May 16, 1958 in Alton; his parents were William Meyer and Darlene (nee Dewanz) Meyer; he married Monica Thomeczek on July 26, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Edward Meyer was employed as a captain with American Commercial Barge Line for 16 years; after his retirement, he became the owner and operator of Clay East Supply, Inc. in Godfrey; and

WHEREAS, Edward Meyer was preceded in death by his mother; and

WHEREAS, Edward Meyer is survived by his wife, Monica; his father; and his brother, William Aring Meyer; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Edward "Ed" Meyer; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Edward Meyer as an expression of our sympathy.
