SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Marylin Bromaghim, who passed away on
4November 4, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marylin Bromaghim was born on May 5, 1924 in
6Alton; her parents were Everett F. and Mary Harriett (nee
7Vedder) Butler; she married Andrew Richardson in 1944 in Alton;
8he preceded her in death in 1946; she later married Harry Leon
9Bromaghim in 1949 in Alton; he preceded her in death in June of
101955; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Marylin Bromaghim earned her bachelor's degree at
12Shurtleff College and her master's degree at Washington
13University; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Marylin Bromaghim was employed as a librarian for
15the Alton Public School District and Hayner Public Library; she
16also loved working at the Caravan Resale Shop; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Marylin Bromaghim was a member of St. Paul
18Episcopal Church in Alton; she played trombone in the Civic
19Orchestra and was an active member in the Alton Area Business
20and Professional Women's Organization; she served as the head
21of the Health Education Program at the YWCA; she was also

1active with the Oasis Women's Center and was on the board since
2its inception; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Marylin Bromaghim was preceded in death by her
4first husband, Andrew; her second husband, Harry; her parents;
5and her brother, Robert Butler; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Marylin Bromaghim is survived by her sons, Robert
7Andrew (Barbara Jean) Richardson and David Charles
8(Jacqueline) Bromaghim; her daughter, Ann Bromaghim; her
9sister, Gladys Virginia Butler; her sister-in-law, Bea Butler;
10her grandchildren, Joel (Traci) Bromaghim, David (Jenni),
11Brent (Genissa) Richardson, and Brandon (Amanda) Richardson;
12her great-grandchildren, Olivia, Jacob, Ethan, Keira, Logan,
13and Tori Bromaghim; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore,
14be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
17family and friends, mourn the passing of Marylin Bromaghim; and
18be it further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Marylin Bromaghim as an expression
21of our sympathy.
