SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lawrence Garbs Jr. of Edwardsville, who passed away on January 16, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Lawrence Garbs Jr. was born on September 24, 1928, in Mascoutah; and

WHEREAS, Lawrence Garbs Jr. worked as an electrician out of IBEW Local 649 in Alton; he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, Lawrence Garbs Jr. enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, and men's fastpitch softball; and

WHEREAS, Lawrence Garbs Jr. was preceded in death by his sister and his grandson, Ryan Garbs; and

WHEREAS, Lawrence Garbs Jr. is survived by his sons, Doug (Jill), Greg (Joyce), Larry, Scott, and Chris Garbs; his 5 grandchildren; and his 2 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Lawrence Garbs Jr., and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lawrence Garbs Jr. as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
