SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Kenneth Lee Cannedy of Wood River, who passed away on November 21, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Cannedy was born on January 3, 1936 in East Alton; his parents were Kent and Henrietta (nee Rapp) Cannedy; he and his cousin, Don Blake, were raised by Bill and Hattie Swan; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Cannedy worked as a crew leader for Owens-Illinois Inc. until his retirement after 30 years of service; he also served as a Member of the Altonized Community Federal Credit Union Board; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Cannedy was a life-long St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and was very active in the East Alton Baseball clubs; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Cannedy was preceded in death by his parents; his former wife, Shirley (nee Benton) Cannedy; a brother, Orville Cannedy; and a sister, Pat Provow; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Cannedy is survived by 4 sons, Steven (Sarah) Cannedy, Don Cannedy, Roy (Kathy) Cannedy, and David (Robin) Cannedy; 6 grandchildren; a brother, Jack (Hazel) Cannedy; a sister, Eva Faye Zeissett; and a loving special friend, Bonnie Stone; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Kenneth Lee Cannedy; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kenneth Cannedy as an expression of our sympathy.
