SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Albert J. Tognarelli of Collinsville, who passed away on November 5, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Albert Tognarelli was born on May 30, 1926 in Collinsville; his parents were Italo and Leda (nee Bastioni) Tognarelli; he married Rosalie Brogliatto on January 10, 1948; and

WHEREAS, Albert Tognarelli served his country as a member of the United States Army's 11th Airborne Division in the South Pacific theatre; he received numerous awards and commendations for his service to his country; and

WHEREAS, Albert Tognarelli was the owner and operator of the Shell, Mobil, and Phillips 66 service stations in Collinsville for over 40 years; he also served as the Collinsville Township Clerk and ran the Collinsville Senior Citizens Center for over 20 years; and

WHEREAS, After retiring at the age of 77, Albert Tognarelli and his wife enjoyed traveling extensively, their favorite times being the cruises they shared together; and

WHEREAS, Albert Tognarelli was a member of many organizations in Collinsville, including the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, and the Collinsville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5691; and

WHEREAS, Albert Tognarelli was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law, Sam LaFrank; and

WHEREAS, Albert Tognarelli is survived by his wife, Rosalie; a son, Richard (Gail) Tognarelli; a daughter, Annette LaFrank; a sister, Lola Wrigley; a brother, Leo "Pete" Tognarelli; 4 grandchildren, Amy LaFrank, Lisa (Christopher) Bossetto, Michael Tognarelli, and Matthew Tognarelli; 2 great-grandchildren, Hunter and Sydnee; and many nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Albert J. Tognarelli; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Albert Tognarelli as an expression of our sympathy.
