SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marilyn Ruth (nee Kinder) Wigginton, who passed away on June 10, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Wigginton was born in East St. Louis on July 30, 1939 to Joseph L. and Doris Kinder; she graduated from East St. Louis High School in June of 1957, where she was involved in the Latin Club, the Girls Advanced Chorus, the Future Teachers of America, the Camera Club, and the school newspaper; she married Robert "Benny" Wigginton in 1959; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Wigginton was an avid reader; she enjoyed having family gatherings around the pool and decorating for her 2 favorite holidays, Christmas Eve and the Fourth of July; she was an animal lover, rescuing stay cats and treating them just like her prized Himalayans; she loved having bright colors everywhere throughout her house; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Wigginton was preceded in death by her father, Joseph "Lynn" Kinder; her mother, Doris Kinder; and daughters-in-law, Tammy Wigginton and Beth Wigginton; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Wigginton is survived by her husband, Robert "Benny" Wigginton; 3 sons, Robert "Robby", Stephen "Stevie" (Kathy), and Darrell "Derry" (Janis); and grandchildren, Bobby, Stephanie, Nick, Dakota, Dylan, Jason, and Miranda; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Marilyn Ruth Wigginton, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marilyn Wigginton as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
