SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Kenneth Grabner, who passed away on June
416, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kenneth Grabner was born on December 19, 1933 in
6Wilsonville; his parents were Walter and Margaret (nee Baggio)
7Grabner; he married Janet M. Simon on October 29, 1955; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Kenneth Grabner graduated from Alton High School
9in 1951; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Kenneth Grabner served his country with pride as a
11member of the United States Air Force during the Korean War;
12and
 
13    WHEREAS, Kenneth Grabner was the owner and operator of
14"Jack's" Grabner's Restaurant and Tavern in Upper Alton for 65
15years until his retirement in 1996; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Kenneth Grabner was a member of St. Mary's
17Catholic Church in Alton, the Alton Knights of Columbus #460,
18Alton American Legion Post #126, and the Alton Eagles FOE #254;
19and

1    WHEREAS, Kenneth Grabner enjoyed golfing on a senior league
22 times a week, reading, checking out books from the local
3library, and spending time with his family and friends; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Kenneth Grabner was preceded in death by his wife,
5Janet; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Kenneth Grabner is survived by 6 children and
7their spouses: Mary and Tom Bunce, Kenneth, Jr. and Pat
8Grabner, Brian and Kathy Grabner, Walter and Debbie Grabner,
9Jeff and Christine Grabner, and David and Stephanie Grabner; 10
10grandchildren, Beth, Matthew, Taylor, Hayden, and Nick
11Grabner, Christina Reed, Megan Bunce, and Wayne, Jimmy, and
12Chris Price, a great-grandson, Carter Reed, and a brother and
13sister-in-law, Keith and Donna Grabner; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
16family and friends, mourn the passing of Kenneth Grabner; and
17be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Kenneth Grabner as an expression of
20our sympathy.
