HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to honor Phil Laskey on the
4occasion of his 90th birthday; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Phil Laskey was born on February 23, 1923, to
6Agnes and Philip Laskey in Blue Island, the oldest of 5
7children; he graduated from Thorton Township High School in
81942 and served in the U.S. Army from 1943 through 1946 as an
9engineer; he married Jane Jurek of in 1949; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Phil Laskey worked for the Engersoll/Borg Warner
11company for 45 years as the engineer for their building in
12downtown Chicago; he worked as a real estate agent for 10 years
13and at the Calumet Park Ace Hardware for 10 years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Phil Laskey was elected as trustee for the Village
15of Calumet Park in 1981; he served under 5 mayors and often
16served as acting mayor at board meetings; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Phil Laskey can be found bowling every Monday on
18the Senior League; he is past commander of the Calumet Park
19American Legion Post 1156; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Phil Laskey and his wife, Jane, are the parents of

1Katherine, Robert, and James(deceased); they have one
2grandchild, Jennifer and 2 great-grandchildren, Owen and
3Taylor; he has 4 siblings, Floriam, Theresa, Raymond, and
4Phyllis; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
6NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
7we honor Phil Laskey on the occasion of his 90th birthday; and
8be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to Phil Laskey as an expression of our esteem and
11respect.
