HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Peter P. Chiodo on the occasion of achieving the coveted rank of Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, Peter Chiodo is a member of Boy Scout Troop 194 of the Northwest Suburban Council; he joined the Scouts during 3rd grade in elementary school and rose through the ranks with great enthusiasm, striving to reach the rank of Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, When choosing his Eagle Scout project, Peter Chiodo sought to help the environment, in furtherance of his goal of becoming an engineer; as such, he chose to recycle electronics, items that landfills no longer accept, and created a one-day recycling event, during which he received 12 pallet loads weighing over 15,000 pounds; for his efforts, he raised $150, which he donated to the Church of the Holy Spirit for its food pantry; and

WHEREAS, After Peter Chiodo completed his service project and the Boy Scout Board of Review, and committee members submitted his Eagle project to the Boy Scouts of America in Texas, the rank of Eagle Scout was bestowed upon Peter Chiodo by the Boy Scouts of America at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor in May of 2013; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Peter P. Chiodo on the occasion of achieving the coveted rank of Eagle Scout and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Peter Chiodo as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
