HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of James Willis Robinson of San Diego, California, who passed away on January 17, 2013; and

WHEREAS, James Robinson was born on July 26, 1938, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to Jimmie Louis and Virginia Robinson; he was baptized at the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff; he graduated from Wabbaseka High School in 1957 and attended business college in Chicago; he married Edna Monroe; and

WHEREAS, James Robinson moved to San Diego in 1971 and worked for the Mitchell-Pacific Development construction company and the Coronado Navel Station; and

WHEREAS, James Robinson was dedicated to the deaconship at Paradise Baptist Church and he could always be counted on to perform his duties passionately; and

WHEREAS, James Robinson was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his son, Harold; and his sister, Bettye Joann; and

WHEREAS, James Robinson is survived by his sisters, Pamela P. (Sammie) Turner and Tamela E. (Walter) Philmon; his daughters, Diane Petty, Glenda K. Bridges, and Regina Robinson; his step-children, Barbara Monroe and Dexter Monroe; his sister-in-law, Mary Jones; his uncles, Vernon Robinson and A.W. Robinson; his 5 grandchildren; his 3 great-grandchildren; his nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his Paradise church family; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James Robinson, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James Robinson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
