HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Sister Thomas Leo Monahan as she retires from her position as principal of Visitation Parish Grade School after 40 years; and

WHEREAS, Sister Monahan joined the Michigan order of the Adrian Dominicans in 1951; she began working at Visitation Parish Grade School in Elmhurst in 1972 as a teacher and then principal; and

WHEREAS, Sister Monahan is respected, loved, and admired by the families of Visitation Parish Grade School and has mentored and touched the lives of hundreds of teachers and thousands of children and families; and

WHEREAS, Sister Monahan's 40 years of service as principal to Visitation Parish Grade School will be celebrated at a reception on April 28, 2013; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Sister Monahan on the occasion of her retirement as principal of Visitation Parish Grade School, thank her for her commitment to her school and community, and wish her all the best in her future endeavours; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Sister Monahan as an expression of our esteem and respect.
