HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Tesla Felician Rogers, who passed away on January 25, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Tesla Rogers was born on March 24, 1981; her parents were Tamra Rogers and Rufus Allen Ross Smith; and

WHEREAS, Tesla Rogers was baptized at an early age at Sacred Heart Catholic Church; and

WHEREAS, Tesla Rogers attended Amos Alonzo Stagg Elementary School and graduated from Olive Harvey Middle College in 1999; and

WHEREAS, Tesla Rogers began her career at Rainbow Clothing Store after college; she started as a sales rep in 2006 and worked her way up to junior manager; she was later promoted to co-manager in 2010, where she remained until her passing; and

WHEREAS, Tesla Rogers enjoyed poetry, art, hairdressing, fashion, music, and sports, especially the Chicago Bears; and

WHEREAS, Tesla Rogers was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Little Simpson; her grandparents, Woody and Dorothy Smith; her aunt, Artina Rogers; and her cousins, Saraphina "Star" Henderson and Daniel "Dan-Dan" Little; and

WHEREAS, Tesla Rogers is survived by her loving parents, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Coleman; her brother, Allen "Rufus" Rogers; her fiance, Kenyatte Watson; her grandmothers, Carolyn Rogers and Beverly Leusuer (Georgia); her grandfather, Issac Coleman (Ann); her aunts, Tabitha Rogers, Gale Jenkins, Martha McCray, Charlotte Smith, and Myra Smith; her great-aunt, Eleanor Jackson; her uncles, Druleon Rogers (Roxanne), Shawn Travis, Jeffery Travis (Denise), Brian Rodgers, Andre Banks, Denzel Rogers, Jordan Rogers, Jaquoar Rogers, and Jeremy Coleman; her many cousins; her godmother, Jewel Rodgers; her godfather, Druleon Rogers; her best friends, Toneil Edwards and Chanda Allen; her godson, Dejuan Lee; and her many friends, including Keisha, Von, Charelle, RayRay, and Eric; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Tesla Felician Rogers; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Tesla Rogers as an expression of our sympathy.
