HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Doris
4Irene (nee Clark) Bass of Chicago; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Doris Bass was born in Chicago on September 30,
61939 to Clifford R. Sanders and Priscilla Clark; she attended
7George Howland Elementary School and David G. Farragut High
8School; she was united in holy matrimony with William Terry
9Bass; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Doris Bass worked at Western Electric, and she
11later became a correctional officer for Stateville
12Correctional Facility; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Doris Bass was a member of Brotherly Love
14Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Doris Bass was preceded in death by her parents;
16her husband; one son, Marcus Terry; one grandchild, David Dante
17Mayfield; 2 brothers, Eddie and Clifford; and 3 sisters,
18Teacake, Martha, and Mae Frances; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Doris Bass is survived by 3 children, Juan C.
20(Cecelia) Bass, Hyda I. (Alfonzo) Bass-Singletary, and Demetra

1S. (Mark) Bass-Adams; a daughter-in-law, Vickie Powell Bass; 4
2grandchildren, LaTanya R. (Edward, Sr.) Moore, Angel C.
3Brewer-Bass, Mark A. Adams Jr., and Matthew A. Adams; 2
4sisters, Charity McCottrell and Victoria Tompkins; one
5brother, Alto Tompkins Jr.; 3 brothers-in-law, Rosevelt
6(Josephine) Bass, Curtis (Edna) Bass, and Robert Townsend;
7sisters-in-law, Sally Pearl Bass-Todd, Juanita Nutall, and
8Verdun Bass; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and
9friends; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
11NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
12we mourn the passing of Doris Irene Bass, and extend our
13sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew
14and loved her; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Doris Bass as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
