SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

415 ILCS 60/19.4 new

Amends the Illinois Pesticide Act. Provides that any manufactured seed that has been treated with a pesticide and that is to be disposed of must be disposed of at a permitted hazardous waste disposal site. Effective January 1, 2024.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning safety.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Pesticide Act is amended by adding Section 19.4 as follows:

(415 ILCS 60/19.4 new)

Sec. 19.4. Disposal of pretreated seeds. Any manufactured seed that has been treated with a pesticide and that is to be disposed of must be disposed of at a permitted hazardous waste disposal site.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January 1, 2024.
