SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gregory L. Lage of Aurora, who passed away on September 20, 2010; and

WHEREAS, He was born April 5, 1957 in Aurora, the son of Elsie (Johnson) Lage and the late Richard Lage; and

WHEREAS, He worked for the family business, Ray Lage Curb and Gutter, for over thirty five years, managing the business after his father's death; he poured his heart and soul into his work; and

WHEREAS, He was a 1975 graduate of East Aurora High School; he was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and spent many years playing for the church's softball team; and

WHEREAS, He was an avid Chicago Blackhawks fan, and was enormously elated to see them win the Stanley Cup in his lifetime; he played hockey for many years and coached a youth hockey team; he was also an enthusiastic golfer and mentored both a girls and boys golf team; he also had a passion for fishing, during the winter enjoyed snow plowing, and was a member of the Tiger Club of Aurora; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Lage; and

WHEREAS, Gregory Lage is survived by his loving wife, Martha (Clementz) Lage; his daughter, Stephanie; his two sons, Scott and Daniel; his mother, Elsie (Johnson) Lage; his loving brother, Alan (Michelle) Lage; his in-laws, the Clementz family, who treasured him like a brother; as well as his aunts, uncles, over fifty nieces and nephews, and many loving friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Gregory Lage; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gregory Lage as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
