SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Patricia Eileen "Pat" Wiggers of Springfield, who passed away on August 29, 2010; and

WHEREAS, She was born March 16, 1935 in Decatur to Warren T. and Mary Alice Gibson French; she attended elementary schools in Indiana and eastern Illinois; she graduated from Tuscola High School in 1953; she later graduated from Decatur-Macon County Memorial Hospital in 1956, where she earned her degree in Nursing; and

WHEREAS, She married Milton Wiggers in Springfield on September 8, 1957; and

WHEREAS, As a registered nurse, she was employed by Illinois State School in Lincoln; she continued her nursing profession with Springfield Clinic, Memorial Hospital, Dr. William White, and Doctors Hospital in the Springfield area until her retirement; and

WHEREAS, She was a longtime devoted member of the Northside United Methodist Church in Springfield; she was a member of the United Methodist Women, and worked countless hours in service for the church; she was a great cook, and could be found in the kitchen of the church preparing meals for many events; she was also an avid reader, an accomplished seamstress, and loved to knit, making blankets and back packs for mission outreach projects through the church; and

WHEREAS, Her parents and her brother, John T. French, preceded her in death; and

WHEREAS, Patricia Wiggers is survived by her husband; her children, Mark (wife Patty) Wiggers, Doug (wife Carol) Wiggers, and Deborah (husband T. Richard "Rick") Bilyeu; her five grandchildren, Maria Bilyeu, Thomas Bilyeu III, Elizabeth Ann Wiggers, Matthew Bilyeu, and Timothy Wiggers; her great grandson, Tyree White; and her sister; Barbara French; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Patricia Wiggers; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Patricia Wiggers as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
