SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joseph L. Murawski of Lake in the Hills,
4who passed away on June 11, 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was a longtime trustee of the village of Lake
6in the Hills; he was appointed to the zoning board of appeals
7in 1981; he was elected trustee in 1991 and served two terms
8through 1999; he served as acting president in 1996 for seven
9months and was re-elected to the board in 2003; and
 
10    WHEREAS, While serving on the village board, Mr. Murawski
11helped trustees with tough growth issues, including work on the
12village roads, the water system, and schools; he served on the
13board of directors for the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Chamber
14of Commerce and the Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission;
15he was also the village board's liaison to the Algonquin-Lake
16in the Hills Senior Club; and
 
17    WHEREAS, He was active with the local Boy Scouts of
18America; he received the district's award of merit and the
19Silver Beaver award during the 40 years he was active with the
20group; he also received the United States Air Force airman of
21the month award while serving his country; and

1    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph F.
2and Sophie Murawski and his sister, Antoinette; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Joseph Murawski is survived by his wife, Jean; his
4children, Edward, Suzanne Shields, and Joseph Jr. (Lynn); his
5grandchildren, Jessica, Alexis, and Ryan; his siblings, Philip
6(Millicent) and Theresa (Gerald) Zbylut; and many nieces and
7nephews; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10his family and friends, the passing of Joseph Murawski; and be
11it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Joseph Murawski as a symbol of our
14sincere sympathy.
