SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Vicki Stewart, who passed away on July 10, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Vicki Stewart spent most of her life in the Champaign area; she attended Urbana High School and graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in journalism; and

WHEREAS, Vicki Stewart was the program director of Family Service of Champaign County until her recent retirement; she was also a member of the Champaign County Board and the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District Board; and

WHEREAS, Vicki Stewart worked with the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program for many years, finding volunteers for the program and nominating other programs for awards based on their work; and

WHEREAS, Vicki Stewart will be remembered fondly by her family and friends for her distinguished record of volunteer service, her sense of humor, her purposeful behavior, and her snappy fashion sense; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Vicki Stewart; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Vicki Stewart as an expression of our sympathy.
